Welcome to Evidence, the eZine for Event Apprentices
We’re Realise, delivering the first event industry apprenticeship. As one of our apprentices or supporters, we’re delighted to send you our monthly ezine.
Enjoy! And just email us if you want to email us some news, or send us some feedback.

The full story will follow but we’re thrilled to announce that the first three apprentices have completed their final assessment and have passed with flying colours. Well done to them all. (We’re keeping their identities secret as all will be revealed during National Apprenticeship Week, 4-8 March).
It’s an incredibly exciting time as another dozen apprentices are approaching their final assessment. Good luck to all of them.

As we celebrate the first apprentices leaving the programme, more great names are joining. A warm welcome to the guys from NESTA, Channel 4 and The Nuclear Institute, and a second apprentice for West End of The Thames. The story continues…

Proof that event organisation is best left to professionals can be seen in the new Netfliix documentary. Planned as a ‘luxury music festival’ in The Bahamas and promoted by Instagram models (who didn’t mention they were being paid) problems around security, food, accommodation and the performers. Guests who expected luxury villas and gourmet meals received only sandwiches and tents used in disasters. (You can see a trailer here). Oh, and the organiser received a six year jail sentence for fraud!

It’s amazing how far your apprenticeship can take you. Even since the last newsletter Realise and their apprentices have been running events across the UK, in Barcelona, New York, Cannes, Singapore and many other points of the compass. Here you can see one of our bears working on a major event at the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel. Whenever sure you have your two essentials to hand; an up to date passport, and your Realise bear.

Realise have teamed up with Brand Exchange to launch the Event Profs Exchange, a Private Members’ Club in the heart of the City of London. The perfect place to meet clients, network with other event professionals, or just chill for a while, fees start at just £20 a month, with no annual fees and a free trial period. Click here for an application form and more details.
|
As well as running the events apprenticeship programme and delivering a variety of workshops and consultancy for event clients, Realise also offers other services to the industry. We have an event app solution, and also a ‘Registration In A Box’ offering. And, as you can see, it’s bear-y simple to use. (Sorry!) Just click here to find out more.

Hola! At the time of writing, many apprentices are attending IBTM World in Barcelona. The next major UK industry event is Confex, taking place at London’s Olympia at the end of February. We’ll be there, so come and join us by registering here.
|
We now have 40 apprentices on the programme, but we’d like more. Can you help us get to our half century? If you know of anyone who wants to join us, call Realise on 07718 111696, or email us at contact@realise.me.uk.
|
At Realise we’re always looking for new ways to help our apprentices get their course work done. For those apprentices who have been too busy working on their events we provide a specialist one day boot camp, perfect for one day of reflecting and writing on their experiences to date. Click here if you’d like to know more.
